Sergeant Roy Bowser, Jr., is a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant (E9), having spent 26 years in administrative support roles to executives in the United States Air Force. During his time in the military, Sergeant Roy Bowser, Jr., became a member of organizations such as the Air Force Sergeants Association.

The Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) was founded in 1961 with a goal of advocating for the best interests of current and former members of the United States Air Force (USAF). In 1983, the organization established the Airmen Memorial Foundation (AMF) to provide charitable support and educational assistance to members and military family members. AMF is particularly active when it comes to providing collegiate scholarships to military dependents.

Through the foundation, AFSA has provided more than $2.4 million in scholarships to military children. International continuing education grants are typically valued from $1,000 to $4,000 and are available to dependents of AFSA aged 23 or younger who are attending an accredited college or university. Online scholarship applications are available annually from January 1 through March 31.
